Celebrities Celebrate New Year with DUIs

WCIA 3 News reported that actor and playwright Sam Shepard was arrested for speeding and drunk driving in McLean County, Illinois. Shepard's blood-alcohol level was double the legal limit. He told police he had been at a tavern and was heading to a hotel.

Earlier in the week, Perez Hilton reported the arrest of Trading Spaces designer and Moving Up host Doug Wilson in Decatur, Illinois.

The legislature in Illinois passed a law requiring all convicted drunk drivers – including first-time offenders – with a BAC of .08 or higher, to install an alcohol ignition interlock on their vehicle. These two celebrities will see this new law in action firsthand.
